Lifeguard Courses Teach You How to React in Emergencies and Save Lives
It is a lifeguard’s responsibility to supervise swimmers and those playing near water. They also educate the public about water safety to prevent accidents from happening. In order to become a lifeguard one must participate in lifeguard courses and obtain Standard First Aid certification before getting certified as a lifeguard.
While training to be a lifeguard you will develop many skills that will stay with you into adulthood. You will develop problem solving and decision making skills, as you need to be able to recognize potential trouble and act quickly and efficiently. Lifeguard courses focus on teaching water rescue and emergency care. You will be trained in CPR, first aid and various emergency procedures, including victim assessment and rescue breathing.
